Following our successful 2009 International Napoleonic Weekend, we will be putting together another fantastic line up for this 200th Anniversary  weekend, celebrating the year of 1810.

Once again we will have both the return of the famous 95th Rifles, as seen in "Sharpe", together with other British and Allied Regiments, plus the French Infantry from Napoleon Bonaparte's Imperial Army. The extensive grounds will also host the Military re-enactments and living history encampments, bringing the area alive with the sound of Napoleon and Wellington's soldiers. Come and learn about the Napoleonic Wars, and meet up with Bonaparte's men, or talk to a redcoat or rifleman from Wellington's Peninsula War army, before they embark to Portugal. There will be a battle display, as well as drill demonstrations, and a chance to wander through the military camps and experience what camp life was like during the period. We also hope to bring you the Royal Armouries original working Napoleonic Guns once again, so you can experience a firing demonstration during the weekend.

We are currently negotiating for the return of the spectacular model of the Battle of Waterloo, which was displayed to the public for the first time in 2009. This huge 240ft square model explains the battle in detail, and contains a model makers dream of thousands of detailed figures and accurate scale models of the farms on this battlefield.

As an additional attraction, we are once again hoping to put on a Regency dining experience as a ticketed Friday evening extra, together with an opportunity to join in with a Regency Ball. For more information on the dinner, please contact us on 01305 775506 or E-Mail to Regency Evening event Ticket enquiry.

So join us for this celebration of the Regency period, with music, dance, and games, together with an open invitation to a Regency picnic in the formal gardens.

2010 will once again see the return of the long standing International Napoleonic Fair in it's 17th year, being held in the Georgian mansion. Many different items can be bought, from books, maps, and pictures, to complete Regency costumes to leather belts, swords and replica firearms (restrictions apply). We are being supported in this venture by several publishing houses and book specialists. So come and shop for an early Christmas gift!

This year, subject to ticket sales, we hope to be celebrating with some additional lectures, book signings, and talks for the public on both military and Georgian civilian life and times during the Napoleonic and Regency Period to include presentations on Costume, battlefields, and history of social aspects of the period, as well as the literature of Jane Austen (More news soon).
