Battle of Waterloo 2007
Saturday June 16th and Sunday June 17th 2007
The wonderful setting of the ruined Chateau of Hougomont played host to the 2007 commemoration and re-enactment of the Battle of Waterloo. Over this weekend, the site played host to an exciting recreation of the 1815 attack on the right wing of Wellington's Army, and involved hundreds of International participants from as far away as Canada and Australia. The Pike And Shot Tour & Event Company were part of the Historical Market, selling our much sought after Napoleonic Battle Maps from our Authentic Trade stand within the Allied Camp.
There was an authentic Living History Encampment which gave a fascinating insight into the world of Napoleon, George III, and the Duke of Wellington.
In attendance were the allied army contingents from England, Scotland, Ireland, the United Netherlands, and Hanover, all part of Wellington's infamous Army, who enlightened visitors to the important part that this Battle played in the final defeat of Napoleon known to history as the "100 Days Campaign"
Many visitors were able to wander through the encampments, and pick up a memory from this superb Event.
We will be recreating history again on June 21/22nd 2008 - so keep checking the website for details!
