Learn the secrets of Dorset’s past, and all about Henry VIII’s invention known to History as

 “THE DEVICE” 

Walk in the footsteps of the Tudors on this Tour with a look back at 16^th Century England.

Choose from a half day or complete day tour.

We can provide a walking tour from Brewers Quay Car Park that includes the Harbour side of Weymouth & Melcombe Regis, and a visit to an original Tudor house to discover the hidden secrets of Henry VIII and Elizabeth I.

For the half day tour, we include a trip to the Tudor Castle on Portland, where you will here all about the defence of the realm against the Spanish Armada, Tudor Cannons, weapons, and war, and castle life in Tudor times. After this discovery, you can return to Weymouth by boat (weather permitting) across the Portland harbour or take a bus back from outside the Castle gates to Brewers Quay.

For those taking a full day tour we explore Chesil beach, the Fleet, and Wyke Church, and visit the forgotten Sandsfoot Castle. This was the famous setting of an Elizabethan love story -  “The Poison Cup” - a tale of bitter local family strife, romance and murder!

Returning to Melcombe Regis via the hidden secrets of "Bincleaves redoubt", we then explore the Tudor backstreets hidden amongst the twin towns, before ending our Tour back at Brewers Quay Car Park
